Post Specification Post Title: Lecturer/Fellow in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery Post Status: One-year contract post commencing 13th July, 2015 Discipline/Faculty: School of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences Location: St James s Hospital, Dublin 8 Reports to: Professor J.V. Reynolds, Head of Discipline Salary Range: This appointment will be made on the Lecturer/Registrar salary scale at a point in line with current government pay policy. Closing Date: 12 noon on Friday 6th March 2015 Note: The successful candidate must be registered with the Irish Medical Council upon commencement of post (by 13th July, 2015) and be Garda cleared by the relevant hospital Qualifications membership of College of Surgeons or equivalent. Higher degree preferable, as well as publications. Basic surgical training completed, and at least 2 further years experience in general surgery. Also, ideally one year in upper gastrointestinal surgery. Curriculum development and teaching/lecturing experience (desirable); Ideally a career focus in oesophageal and gastric surgery; Registered with the Irish Medical Council.
