Exchange House Ireland has over 35 years’ experience providing Traveller specific, professional, front-line family support, crisis intervention, education, training and children and young people’s services in Ireland. This “best practice” model is funded by the Health Services Executive, Department of Social Protection, Department of Children and Youth Affairs, SOLAS, Pobal (Dormant Accounts Fund), the European Union and a variety of charitable trusts.
We hold the contract from the HSE National Office for Suicide Prevention to deliver the National Traveller Suicide Prevention Service and are funded by the Genio Trust to deliver Ireland’s only Traveller specific mental health service.
Exchange House Ireland holds Quality Qualifications Ireland (QQI) accreditation, and is approved by FETAC to design, develop, deliver, quality assure and accredit education and training courses.
Annually, we work with over 8,000 Travellers, almost one quarter of the Traveller population in Ireland, making us the largest Traveller specific service provider in the country.
The Education & Training Service of Exchange House Ireland provides high quality education and training programmes which respect and build on existing strengths and skills of participants, providing opportunities for learning and progression. The service provides opportunities for youth and adults in basic literacy, further education/training and support in accessing third level education, training and employment.

Local Training Initiative Coordinator
The Local Training Initiative Coordinator will work as part of the Education & Training Services team to develop, co-ordinate and implement a CDETB Local Training Initiative (LTI) to meet the adult education needs of Travellers. The aim of the programme is to provide the learners with the opportunity to engage in a range of adult basic education courses and to identify progression routes into further training, education or employment options available in conjunction with the range of other services provided by Exchange House.
This full-time position is funded by CDETB and the salary will be based on CDETB rates. The salary is €33,536 per annum.
