The Open Training College is a  provider of third level education to staff working in services for people with a disability and in the human services/non-profit sector. Programmes lead to QQI (Qualifications and Quality Ireland) awards at Levels 5 to 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications.

MANAGER – ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

(2 -Year Fixed Term Contract with possibility of extension)

The Manager of Academic Affairs has responsibility for the proper and effective management of the student learning and academic processes within the College in accordance with the Colleges approved QA system(s) and accreditation bodies.

Requisites for this post are:

A primary degree and post-graduate qualification in  relevant areas
Experience of managing Quality Assurance in an academic setting
Competence in the management and operation of Information Management Systems (IMS) and database(s)
An in-depth understanding of accreditation system(s) and programme validation processes especially as they operate in Ireland and their linkage to the European context
An in-depth understanding of the Irish framework of qualifications (NFQ) and its linkage to other frameworks internationally
An understanding of national policy with regard to Access, Transfer and Progression and RPL
People management skills and competencies
Excellent organisational, team-working and interpersonal skills
Competence in information analysis, synthesis, summarising and presentation including report writing
