Senior Speech and Language Therapist
(Permanent Full-Time Position)

Saint John of God Community North East Services supports individuals with an intellectual disabilty to be active participants within the community that they live.  Applications are invited for the post of Senior Speech and Language Therapist who will support both Children and adult population in the Service.

The successful candidate must have:

A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
Eligibility for membership of the Irish Association of Speech & Language Therapists.
A minimum of 3 years satisfactory post qualification experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist.
Speech and Language experience in the area of intellectual disability.
Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, excellent communication and organisational skills.
Demonstrated ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team providing services to children and adults with an intellectual disability
A qualification in dysphagia and at least one year’s experience working in this area with both children and adults.
A full, clean driver’s license.

Desirable:

Completed Hanen, Lámh training, TEEACH and PECS.
Knowledge and experience in the areas of Positive Behaviour Support, Assistive Technology, Total Communication, Family and Staff Training Programmes and Dysphagia Management.
