Description

We have a position for a trainee Legal Costs Accountant to join our expanding team which is based in Cork city centre. Legal Costs Accountants are primarily concerned with the drafting of Bills of Legal Costs and the negotiation / taxation (adjudication) of same before one of the Taxing Masters of the High Court or before a County Registrar in Circuit Court matters. This is a paid trainee position. Complete in-house, on the job training will be given. The candidate will become a student member of the Institute of Legal Costs Accountants and after passing such examinations as the institute sets will become a full member. This is a position which would suit a Legal Secretary or Legal Executive seeking to change to an alternative long term career path.

Skills Requirements

A successful applicant will need to possess a Degree / Diploma level legal qualification and a minimum of two years experience in general legal practice, in addition to the following; An ability to provide assistance and support to senior members of staff; An ability to progress files on own initiative and as part of a team; An ability to prioritise and meet deadlines; Very keen attention to detail; Typing/dictaphone typing to a high standard or accuracy;
