Irish Autism Action endeavors to raise the quality of life of individuals and their families affected by autism through ensuring the highest standards in education, care, support, employment and equality of living opportunities in partnership with families.
As part of our National Outreach Programme, Irish Autism Action are assisting families with recruiting suitably qualified individuals interested in providing July provision to children with autism.
Position (Part-time & Relief): Tutors for July Provision
Regions: Leinster, Munster, Connaught and Ulster Regions
Successful candidates will have:
A teaching council number.
A recognised qualification in education, autism, or in an evidence based approach to teaching children with autism. Applicants holding third level qualifications from related disciplines (e.g. psychology, social science) will also be considered.
Previous experience working with children and/or adolescents with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently
Full, clean driver’s license with own transport
References and Garda Clearance will be required
Preferred, but not essential:
Experience with augmenative communication methods (PECs, LAMH, etc)
Experience managing challenging behaviour
Ongoing training and supervision will be provided. Flexible work hours essential.
