Description

Responsible for the provision of satisfactory technical support for sales, manufacturing and quality. Establish processes based on product specifications; Review and respond to incoming enquiries for new or modified designs. Review of technical specification, application, configuration and design; Conceptual design, cost and lead time estimation of new assemblies and product to meet customer specifications and target costs; Detail design of assemblies to include sales approval and manufacturing drawings, tooling design and manufacturing specification; Evaluate process and design alternatives based on Design for Manufacturability principles; Develop and install new manufacturing and process technologies to support product development and product transfer; Carry out technical analysis and testing of new or modified designs for approval. Liaise with manufacturing and quality to oversee the introduction of the new product to production; Develop and implement new technique

Skills Requirements

Experience in a similar manufacturing/engineering environment; Third level qualification in an Engineering discipline; Proficient use of 3D modelling software, preferably solid edge; High level of computer literacy; Good analytical and design skill; Creativity in providing competitive customer design solutions; Excellent communication, credibility and presentation skills; Self-starter, ability to work on own initiative.
