Description

O Brien Cement requires a laboratory technician to carry out daily quality tests on the physical properties of manufactured materials. As laboratory technician you would be working under the supervision of the laboratory manager. Duties Involve: Prepare and perform tests on cement samples using established test methods and procedures. Record all results clearly and accurately and carry out preliminary analysis of data. Plan and organise work on a daily and weekly basis. Work efficiently and safely, following lab procedures in order to maintain high safety and quality standards. Maintain laboratory stocks of raw materials and equipment. Support and cover for other team members. Cleaning and calibration of laboratory equipment. Filing and storage of laboratory records. The position would be ideally suited to a candidate from either a science or engineering background that has finished their studies and wishes to gain experience in construction materials or a laboratory environment.
