Description

The Product Development Engineer is primarily responsible for managing new and incremental development of products. He/she will further serve as a critical interface between the company and the supplier to ensure product specifications and expectations are fully met. The selected candidate will be trained up in Merlyns New Product Development process and must be available to travel to various manufacturing sites as required, but will be based in Kilkenny City. Key Responsibilities : Work and perform in team environment and work with multi- disciplinary teams. Provide mechanical design and development of new products for a consumer market. Liaising with Suppliers (foreign countries) daily to problems solves, discuss product design etc. Co-ordination of new projects for new product ranges. Improvement/Enhancement of designs in line with procedures. New product introduction & training. Updating business on product updates, issues.

Skills Requirements

Desirable Skills and Behaviour: Sound understanding of statistical analysis concepts and their application. Experience running projects. Can read technical drawings. Attention to detail in reporting and administration. Articulate with the ability to grasp product information fast. Ability to problems solve and track record of liaising with manufacturers, installer. Education and Qualifications: Hons Diploma and / or Degree level Engineering qualification. High level of 3D CAD skills.
