About AquaTT

With 23 years of experience, AquaTT has proven itself as an expert at managing European Projects, with a strategic focus on knowledge management, dissemination and training. AquaTT operates extensively within the European scientific research arena and over the past five years has demonstrated a track record in successfully pursuing, acquiring and managing a significant amount of grants (27 EC-funded projects across the FP7, H2020, Interreg and Lifelong Learning Programmes), enabling it to build a knowledge-based organisation with key networks among national and European stakeholders in the marine and other sectors.

Description of Position:

AquaTT is currently looking for a pro-active, diligent and dedicated individual with a minimum of three years experience in relevant project-based work (national- or EC grant-funded). The position is based in our Dublin city centre office.

The Project Officer (PO) will join our existing team and contribute to the management and administration of AquaTT’s current portfolio of projects. AquaTT’s roles in projects typically fall under the umbrella of knowledge management activities (project management, dissemination, communication, stakeholder engagement, event organisation, knowledge management and transfer). The PO will be responsible for fulfilling administrative duties (reporting, generating deliverables, contributing to technical activities, etc.) associated with delivering on such projects, as well as for maintaining excellent partner and stakeholder relationships. Given the international dimension of the work, travel within the EU will be required.

Essential Criteria

EEA work authorisation
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
A minimum of three years’ demonstrable experience in relevant project-based work
Excellent level of English
Excellent presentation skills
Excellent writing skills
Good understanding of the research funding environment in Ireland and Europe
Track record of success in writing grant applications
Sound working knowledge of MS Office systems
Task-oriented, responsible and autonomous
Strong interpersonal skills
Commitment to delivering on allocated tasks
Good ability to work in a team and in multicultural environments
Good ability to demonstrate initiative
Good ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks
Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new information

Desired Skills but not Essential

Experience of knowledge management, technology transfer, science in society or other processes involving the uptake of knowledge by different stakeholder groups such as industry, policy, science and society
Project management qualification
Event management experience
Experience in information management and communication through electronic platforms
Networking experience

Work Conditions

Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines as part of the contract
National and international travel will be required

Remuneration

€25,000 – €32,619 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications). Twenty-five days holiday per year. Training opportunities (relevant to the role) will be provided. Pension option available.
