Doras Luimní is an independent non-governmental organisation which works to support and promote the rights of all migrants living in Limerick. We provide a range of services, some of which are designed to meet the specific needs of the migrant community and others which are available to the wider Limerick community. Our main areas of work are the provision of direct support, advocacy and campaigning and integration planning.
We invite applications for the position of Legal Officer.
Doras Legal Officer will have the overall responsibility of managing Doras’ Direct Support Service which provides one-to-one legal information and advice on a range of immigration related issues to our clients. This role will include managing Doras’ Legal Service and The Advice and Information Centre which advocates on behalf approximately 1,000 clients per annum to Government Agencies and other organisations. A further element of this work will be to maintain an individual caseload and ensuring detailed records of all clinic work are kept.
Qualifications & Experience

A professional legal qualifications
A minimum of two years’ experience of working in a NGO.
Direct experience of working with migrant communities and an appreciation and understanding of the realities and diversity of their lives.
A thorough understanding of human rights based approaches, inequality and social exclusion issues.
Terms and Conditions
This position is full-time (35 hours) and salary will be commensurate with experience.
