The Activities Coordinator will report to the Team Leader and will fulfil a key worker role for individuals and aim to provide a safe, secure environment where individuals will participate in community and leisure activities, make choices and enjoy a lifestyle that fulfil their potential and expectations with opportunity for new experiences. The successful candidate will coordinate activities, develop links with the wider community and will work closely with Key workers, Team Leaders, and Multidisciplinary teams to ensure that the activities offered are person centred and suit the needs and wishes of the individuals. They will provide leadership and supervision at a local level.    We wish to recruit an innovative, creative, visionary person who will relish the opportunity to assist in achieving this vision.   We are looking for an individual who will be flexible and adapt to the needs of particular individuals they support and are open to change.

Candidates must have a current live RNID qualification or a HETAC/NQAI BA Degree in Applied  Social Care Studies/Social Care/Open Training College (HETAC) accredited BA in Applied Social Studies (Disability).  A full clean driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 year’s experience of working with people with an Intellectual disability. Experience of working with persons with high support needs is an essential requirement of this post.  Experience in the area of goal setting and programme implementation, organising and implementing activities are also essential requirements. Previous experience of managing and/or supervising a staff team is desirable.
