Position: Administrator
Contract: 14 Month Contract
Salary: €22,000 – €27,595, Qualifications & experience dependant.
Base: County Hall, Portlaoise, Co. Laois.
Job Description & Person Specification
Role:
Reporting to the Manager and working closely with the management team, the role carries overall responsibility for the administration management of the company with an emphasis on business process improvements linked to the better use of technology as well as management and statutory reporting across all income generating areas and effective cash flow control.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Accounting procedures, payroll systems and the preparation of financial reports
Maintaining records/files, minute taking and maintaining a database.
Excellent organisational skills and an ability to process information and deal with challenges quickly and effectively
Process payments of all invoices and ensure a proper audit trail exists from requisition to payment
Receipt, record and safely bank all cash income in accordance with required procedures.
Complete all reports and administrative work on time and to a required standard
Monitor expenditure and provide regular budgetary statements as required.
Work closely with the Dispatch Officer to gain knowledge of the Integrated Transport Management System (ITMS)
Essential skills and personal qualities required:
Part qualified accountant OR part qualified accountant technician and studying to full (ATI or equivalent OR several years financial administrative experience
High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications & Software Accounting Systems
Demonstrable experience and a reasonable grounding in specialist areas
Ability to work as part of a wider team
Enjoy the challenging atmosphere of a business set-up and perform well under pressur
Good communication and interpersonal skills including ability to deal with the requirements of a wide range of contracted operators and client partners (HSE, IWA)
Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise own work to meet agreed objectives
Desirable skills
Experience of working with community and voluntary organisations
Experience of working in the transport industry
Experience of the Corporate Governance requirements of companies limited by guarantee
Working knowledge of the Irish Language
