Citizens Information Services are independent companies managed by voluntary Boards of Directors. The Dublin network of Citizens Information Services (CIS) is seeking to recruit a full time (35 hours per week, Monday to Friday) Advocacy Support worker who will be employed by Clondalkin& Lucan CIS. This is a fixed term contract due to expire December 2018.
The Role
The role will also encompass a national remit under which the Advocacy Support Worker will work as part of a national team on the development and implementation of quality standards in advocacy practice in Citizens Information Services.
The Advocacy Support Worker will be responsible for building the capacity and skills of Information Providers in Citizens Information Services in the Dublin region, supporting their advocacy practice in the mainstream as part of integrated information, advice and advocacy service to the general public, including people with disabilities. The Advocacy Support Worker will provide coaching and mentoring to CIS personnel, both remotely and on site, through a programme incorporating both intensive support and back-up advice.
The Advocacy Support Worker will work closely with all CISs in their region and link with the National Advocacy Service for People with Disabilities to support people with disabilities access to advocacy.
Remuneration
The salary scale for an Advocacy Support Worker is €42,658 – €48,334.
It is anticipated that new entrants to Citizens Information Services will be appointed on the 1st point of the scale.
Incremental credit should it be awarded will be based entirely on previous relevant experience as set out on the application form and cover letter at time of submission.
