Position Summary:
The Afterschool’s Coordinator of Trim Community Childcare will be responsible for developing, managing and evaluating an afterschool program for 65 Children that supports and enhances the children’s development, social-emotional learning and academics.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Manager of Trim Community Childcare the Afterschool Coordinator will be responsible for the overall program management and will work directly with the afterschool staff. The Afterschool Coordinator will:

Develop an engaging afterschool programme that will be creative and innovative for children
Support staff in providing supervision and activities appropriate to child’s age and development
Ensure implementation of high-quality programs that are responsive to children and families
Gather all required program data and provide reporting as necessary
Foster self esteem, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
Create an atmosphere of safety, belonging and positive development for each child
Provide positive role-modeling for afterschool staff and volunteers
Plan and lead age appropriate programs using a team approach
Be self-motivating and enthusiastic in carrying out the duties

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
Candidates should hold a third level qualification in Youth and Community Work or a related area. A QQI Qualification will also be considered.
A minimum of 3 years experience in youth work/childcare.
Excellent working knowledge and experience of working to the Childcare Regulations essential
Excellent oral and written communication skills
