Family Carers Ireland wishes to make the following appointment based at our Resource Centre, Unit 1 Georges Quay House, Georges Quay, Limerick.

AREA MANAGER
(2 YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following;

Management & delivery of an In Home Respite Care Service/Home Care Packages to Families in line with agreed budgets & service plans.
Line management of a local team comprising Home Care Workers, Family Carer Support Officers, Nurse and Administration team ensuring a dedicated and high quality service is delivered in your assigned area.
Establish and support Family Carer groups, giving Family Carers a collective voice in the area.
Lobby and advocate at local level to generate awareness of Family Carer issues.
Work in partnership with voluntary & statutory agencies to increase awareness of and develop local services for Family Carers
Financial Management to include budgets, reporting, planning and forecasting
Deliver on annual revenue generating targets in your assigned territory
Maintain and adhere to standards of services as designed by the Organisation
Other ad-hoc duties as required

The ideal candidate:

At least 5 years’ experience in a leadership and management position within this sector or related sectors is essential.
A third level qualification in the area of Community Development, Social Care, HealthCare, Management and/or an extensive demonstrable track record of working within these fields is desirable.
Previous experience in a dynamic service driven environment would be an advantage.
Proven ability of building positive working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
Experience managing a team through change.
Flexibility in attitude and approach to the job
Excellent IT Skills- mainly MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Proficiency in the English language
Ability to plan, manage and coordinate budgets
Strong facilitation and presentation skills
Full clean drivers licence and own transport
