Novas Initiatives is seeking a Catering Manager who will work directly in both the Brother Russell House and McGarry House kitchens, primarily responsible for food preparation, cooking and meal presentation on a daily basis.
However this role will also require the development of a kitchen training programme referred to in more detail in the Job Description, which the person employed in this role will have responsibility for.
The successful applicant will (have):
A professional catering qualification
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
Knowledge and experience of new food allergen legislation
Excellent knowledge and experience of HACCAP and health and safety in a large kitchen
Experience / knowledge of managing a kitchen training programme
Knowledge of the homeless sector and the reasons why people become homeless
A flexible attitude and excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
The ability to demonstrate their innovation in the area of diet and nutrition with particular focus on persons in addiction, recovery, poor physical and mental health.
The ability to work as part of a team and good understanding of team issues and willingness to be flexible when taking part in a rota system involving weekend and late evening work.
An organised approach to administration.
Be computer Literate / Word, Excel and internet.
A driving license and use of own car.
A knowledge of and a commitment to equal opportunities.
Salary: e33,000p/a
