Centre Manager – Kerry Parents and Friends Association

The Role:
To organise and control the resources allocated for the successful implementation of the Association’s policies and the day to day management of the Day Service.
To build and develop a staff team with the necessary skills and motivation to ensure the care, safety and general wellbeing of all service users and to implement individual programmes for each service user to the highest standards in keeping with the ethos and philosophy of the Association.
The service will be developed and managed in line with the Organisations strategic plan and guided by the HSE’s New Directions standards, with an emphasis on it becoming individualised and community based, promoting inclusion and active participation.
The core values will be based on ‘Person Centred, Community Inclusion & Active Citizenship and Quality’, by providing personal support services for adults with an intellectual disability.
The post will be evolutionary in nature and consequently the Centre Manager may be required to perform other duties as appropriate to the post which may be assigned to him/her from time to time.

Essential Criteria:
A relevant recognised Health/Nursing or Social Care Qualification or equivalent.
At least 5 years’ relevant experience in an operational management capacity, which must include the supervision of staff & volunteers.
Relevant Management qualification essential.
An excellent knowledge of statutory regulations, standards, role of person in charge and Health Act 2007.
A proven ability to lead and support teams.
Experience of working with people with a range of high support needs and behaviours of concern.
Experience in and a commitment to promoting community presence.
Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills.
A full drivers licence with access to a car insured for business purposes.
