Pieta House provide a range of counselling services for people who are suicidal, engage in self-harm or who are bereaved by suicide. Pieta House also operate a national 24 hour helpline (1800 247 247) and a dedicated Research, Education and Training office. We are committed to delivering our services with care and professionalism and continue to strive to ensure that we provide the best service for our clients.
Due to further expansion of our services with a new centre opening in Athlone during the month of September, we wish to recruit for the following positions. Details as follows;
CENTRE MANAGER – 1 Year Fixed Term Contract – 35 Hours per week (salary €40,000)
(Flexibility required to include occasional evening and weekend work)
Reporting to the Clinical Director, the role of Centre Manager is to manage a team of therapists and clinical support staff and oversee all the clinical issues arising from the crisis intervention and bereavement services.
All applicants should have most or all of the following;
A degree in counselling psychology/psychotherapy and be fully accredited with IACP, IAHIP, PSI, ICP, FTAI, NAPCP or equivalent.
Ideally have a minimum of two years supervisory or management experience.
Clinical experience is essential for this position.
Possess excellent literacy, written, communication and interpersonal skills.
Be adept in using Microsoft office, Outlook, etc.…
Maintain absolute discretion in all aspects of the work.
An ability to work on their own initiative and have a strong ability to manage and work with a team of therapists as well as our Pieta clients and stakeholders.
Be interested in and demonstrate a belief and enthusiasm for the work of Pieta House.
Be able to liaise in a professional manner with Pieta’s headquarters and the various function heads of each.
Have completed The Children’s First HSE Training and be certified.
Be committed to working closely with the staff to resolve together issues as they arise.
Prepare and deliver external presentations on behalf of Pieta when required.

PSYCHOTHERAPIST/COUNSELLING PSYCHOLOGISTS – Sessional/Independent Contractors basis – max 8 hours per week (Flexibility required to include evening and Saturday work)
Please note the following;
A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant clinical area such as counselling, psychotherapy or psychology and professional accreditation in their relevant field (IACP, IAHIP, PSI, ICP, FTAI, NAPCP or equivalent).
The successful candidate shall be required to:
Build relationships with clients using the Pieta House Models of Therapy.
Work within the ethos and philosophy of Pieta House.
Receive ongoing external supervision.
Attend one to one supervision with a Pieta House Supervisor once monthly.
Attend annual Pieta House staff meeting.
Keep up to date with best practice and procedures at all times in line with the Code of Ethics of IACP, IAHIP, PSI, ICP, FTAI, NAPCP or equivalent.
Clinical Support Administrators 1 Year Fixed Term Contract – 1 full-time post and one part-time post (Flexible hours including evenings & Saturday’s)
The ideal candidate will:
Have an excellent, compassionate and caring phone manner.
Have strong and proficient computer skills.
Ideally have completed ECDL course.
Be flexible around working hours.
