Suas Educational Development is an Irish educational charity. We believe all people should be valued equally and our aim is to see children in disadvantaged settings in Ireland and internationally realise their rights and achieve their full potential. Our mission is to transform the lives of children in disadvantaged settings through education.
We support the delivery of quality education in disadvantaged (DEIS) schools in Ireland and in informal, community schools in India, Kenya and Zambia. In Ireland we also contribute to a wider enabling environment through our global citizenship work – raising awareness of young people in third level education about issues of inequality and injustice and mobilising people to take action – including through volunteering and mentoring in partner schools.
Chief Executive Officer
Suas is an ambitious, education-focused social change organisation that supports programmes in Ireland, India, Kenya and Zambia. Our vision is a world where all young people are given the opportunity to realise their full potential in life and go on to create positive change in their society. We believe in education as the means to achieve this vision. We are at an exciting stage in our development and are looking for a CEO to lead the team as it builds on its achievements in Ireland and pilots exciting technology enabled learning overseas.
Suas is now extremely well placed with a strong team to be led by an entrepreneurial leader with a passionate commitment to education for all and the experience and capability to develop this Irish NGO.
The Role
The successful candidate will have the ability to lead the team as it scales up existing programmes, develops the overseas educational initiatives, gain the confidence of our key institutional donors whilst also identifying new funding streams.
The ideal candidate will have experience of overseas development programming and be familiar with the issues faced in delivering education for all. He or she will be dynamic, inspirational, impact orientated, and committed to development at home and abroad.
