The Alzheimer Society of Ireland works across the country in the heart of local communities providing dementia specific services and supports and advocating for the rights and needs of all people living with dementia and their carers. Our vision is an Ireland where no one goes through dementia alone and where policies and services respond appropriately to the person with dementia and their carers, at the times they need support. A national non-profit organisation, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is person centred, rights-based and grassroots led with the voice of the person with dementia and their carer at its core.
The ASI comprises over 300 volunteers and over 900 full and part-time staff. There are three regional offices and a network of local branches around the country. A number of core functions operate through the national office including IT, policy/research, fundraising, PR, training and finance.
CHIEF EXECUTIVE
Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive has overall responsibility for leadership of the ASI and will be responsible for the planning, communicating and execution of the organisation’s strategy and operations in a manner consistent with the mission, vision and values of the ASI as approved by the Board. The appointee will lead, manage, support and inspire staff members, volunteers and other stakeholders in the fulfillment of their responsibilities and will ensure that all activity complies with the ASI’S ethos. The Board is seeking an experienced and proven leader, who will bring strong strategic and operational capabilities to the organisation. The appointee will have the necessary vision, in conjunction with the Board and the management team, to build and develop the strategies required meeting the needs of all stakeholders.
In addition to possessing an affinity with the objectives of the ASI, the appointee will require well-honed commercial and organisational development skills, coupled with a track record of leadership and management. An exceptional communicator, the appointee will champion the needs of people with dementia at a time of ongoing change within the Irish economy and within the health services sector.
