Childcare Manager – YMCA – Dublin

YMCA Childcare is a modern, purpose-built facility  located on Aungier Street, in the heart of the city, with a safe outdoor playground and large sports hall. We are a fully catered crèche, with all our meals prepared fresh onsite by our catering staff. We provide full- and part-time care for children from 3 months through 6 years old, plus after-school care for children who attend school in the area.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic full time Manager with responsibility for Management of the day to day running of the centre. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly driven, experienced, motivated individual with a successful track record within the childcare sector to join our team.

The Role

The successful applicant will have the responsibility to lead and inspire the staff team with best practice standards.
To work as part of a Childcare management team, working closely with the Assistant manager in the daily oversight of the childcare facility. Including spending time on the floor when necessary.
Manage the development of a child centred quality early years and afterschools service in line with Aistear & Siolta and other practice frameworks.
Provide a safe, stimulating and fun environment for children attending the centre.
Oversee accounts and billing.
Carry out cost analysis and budgeting and ensure that financial, administrative and personnel aspects of the childcare centre including the childcare funding schemes
They will be responsible for grant applications and overseeing state funding.
They will also be actively involved in all areas of Human Resources, Health and Safety matters, updating and reviewing Company Policies and Procedures and Marketing, in addition to Front Office duties.
Ensure budgets are maintained by setting the level of fees and ensuring the collection of fees, monitoring expenditure .
To maintain statistical and financial Sales records figures to enable the Lifestyle management team make informed marketing and revenue generating initiatives . (includes weekly Dashboard and other shared google docs)

Skills & Responsibilities

It is essential that the ideal candidate holds a minimum level 7 qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care and has a minimum 3 years experience working in an early year’s setting. A minimum 2 year managerial/supervisory experience is desirable.
Experience in Human Resources Management.
Ensure that Rosters and routines are prepared.
Manage annual staff leave and payroll staff hours.
Effective People and Business Management skills with the confidence and skills to cover all business aspects of the role.
Ability to take responsibility to put into effect all company policy, procedures, health and safety/risk assessment as stipulated in the Childcare Regulations 2006.
Ability to multi task, prioritise work and work in busy environment.
Excellent IT skills.
Ability to line manage and supervise staff, supporting their continuous personal development.
To have responsibility for ensuring compliance with the Child Care (Pre-School Services) Regulations 2006 and all other relevant legislation.
Excellent communication skills in dealing with children and parents and to participate in a team. To encourage parents to actively participate in the group and ensure parents are kept informed of their child’s development.
The ability to plan and deliver regular meetings to discuss curriculum, activities and child development. They are also required to attend relevant training courses and childcare network meetings on an ongoing basis.

Remuneration: The salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
