Community and Day Services Manager – Coolmine

Person Specification
The person specification sets out the essential abilities and qualities needed by the successful candidate for this post.

Qualifications
Third level qualification in addictions or related field.
Professional management qualification preferred.
Possession of a recognised counselling qualification with accreditation is desirable.

Experience
Management experience and demonstrated effectiveness in the voluntary sector.
Proven record of leadership capability in the supervision of teams.
Leadership and Management experience of Community and day services
Experience in interagency collaboration and developing partnership
Three years’ experience of work with drug and alcohol users and excluded groups.
Knowledge and experience of clinical governance.
Experience of budget processes and control.

Knowledge
Familiar with various models of addiction as well as best practice in detox, rehabilitation, aftercare and recovery.
Working knowledge of the Homelessness and Housing sector.
Knowledge of Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety, and the implications of both within the working environment.
A knowledge of best practice in working with drug users and other excluded groups.
Knowledge of legislation affecting the voluntary sector.

Able to communicate effectively with the full range of Coolmine stakeholders (e.g. clients, staff, peer agencies, funders) on policy and operational matters.
Able to address meetings of all sizes, internally and externally.
Able to produce clear, concise and persuasive written reports and letters.
Display consistent and effective leadership skills particularly during challenging periods.
Display skills to motivate and develop staff to deliver quality services.
Ability to think strategically, drive change and be responsive to evolving organisation needs.
Capacity to manage a wide range of activities at once and effectively work under pressure.
Understands how to compile statistics and report on same.
Ability to contribute proactively, positively and effectively to the senior management team.
Commitment to meeting the needs of excluded and marginalised people.
