Role Description:
The Course Lead role will involve teaching, providing learner support and promoting learner experience across an undergraduate BSc programme. The Course Lead will work closely with the academic tutor team, programme manager, college director and quality department.
Essential Requirements:
An MSc or higher degree in Sports Psychology, Physical Education or Sports Therapy
5 years’ experience in applied practice or education (desired)
Experience in student support and liaison position (desired)
Excellent leadership and managerial skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work on own initiative, multi-task and be self-motivated.
Enthusiastic and dynamic personality with commitment to supporting and encouraging students and tutors to reach their full potential.
Tutor responsibilities:
Maintain course content for subject-specific modules
Deliver interactive academic content to meet learning outcomes for subject-specific modules
Course coordination responsibilities:
Maintain paperwork in accordance with Portobello Institute requirements and relevant accrediting bodies.
Monitor, evaluate and support the academic progress and welfare of all learners within the course including support for work-placement, employment-based learning and post-graduate progressions
Monitor quality of learner experience
Deal with, document and report any learner or academic issues that arise
Support the BSc academic tutor team and encourage and promote standards of excellence
Coordinate course induction for the BSc programme
Co-ordinate assessments including external examining body assessments
Verify and moderate results in alignment with accrediting body requirements
Ensure alignment of validating bodies rules & regulations and any developments in relation to same, update College Director of any changes
Attendance at accrediting body course committee meetings
