We currently have a position for Customs Department Manager, based in Dublin.
The successful Customs Department Manager will have the overall responsibility to coach, develop, mentor and performance manage all members of our customs team in Ireland.
The role is to support and lead the team to complete timely, accurate & fully compliant Customs activities in accordance with internal documented processes and procedures, whilst meeting or exceeding the internal & client agreed key performance indicators (KPI’s) and continuously identifying both operational and financial process improvement.
Has responsibility for managing, controlling and leading all the
Operations activities of a medium CSO. Relates to the VAS Operations to
deliver optimal operations performance in accordance with the Area
Business Strategy and agreed Customer SLAs.

General Responsibilities:
Manage unexpected absence.
Collate, analyse, and present reports as required.
Pro-active Customer communication.
Promote and drive team performance through MPACT.
Review & sign off/extend new starter probation periods with collaboration of Customs Operation Lead.
Drive productivity of the team through continuous improvement.
Ensure financial and operational KPI’s and deadlines fully met and maintained.
Timely logging and resolution of Customer disputes.
Maintain a professional and collaborative relationship with customers and stakeholders.
Be accountable for employee engagement survey scores and action plans.
To support all growth initiatives.
Innovate and optimise all areas of operations.
Actively participate in Customs related projects as required.
Complete ad-hoc tasks and projects as requested.
Ensure that Head of Customs Operations is aware of your development aspirations.
Drive the company values within the team and act as a role model in their application.

Experience/Skills
Extensive up to date knowledge of HM Customs & Revenue systems and procedures.
UK Customs Academy level 4
Proven Experience of managing teams
The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Positive mindset and attitude towards team engagement.
Able to work independently but also collaborate with a team to meet targets.
Strong communicator
Company and Industry customs knowledge & Understanding
Industry specific financial understanding.
