Deputy Home Services Manager – Cavan / Monaghan – Family Carers Ireland

Duties & Responsibilities:
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following;
Home Support Services
In support of the Home Services Manager, manage the delivery of Home Support Services; including staff delivering on rostering commitments in line with HSE tender requirements.
Manage the delivery of a quality home services in the designated territory including ongoing monitoring and review.
Responsible for the management of all aspects of the referral process to ensure staff are equipped to respond to referrals.
Responsible for ensuring Family Carer Ireland policies, procedures and standards are adhered to.
Responsible for dealing with any complaints or staffing issues.
In conjunction with the Home Services Manager, manage the growth of the business in line with agreed KPIs.
Promotion of Family Carer Ireland as a quality service provider.

People Management
In line with the Organisation’s Performance Management programme, the Deputy Home Services Manager is responsible for mentoring and developing the skills of their direct reports.
Support the Home Services Manager with the management a small administrative team in their absence.
Manage and motivate remote staff.
Facilitate at a minimum monthly individual support and supervision meetings with direct reports.
Facilitate monthly team meetings with direct reports to build and motivate the team.
Facilitate monthly team meetings with Home Care Workers.
Disseminate any policy changes to staff in an accurate and efficient manner.
Responsible for the recruitment and retention of staff.
Ensure all staff in the assigned are qualified and trained to the level required by the HSE and that they are compliant with all mandatory qualifications.

Performance Management
Participate in the Organisation’s Performance Management programme.
Reporting
Compile succinct accurate reports as requested by internal mangers and external stakeholders.
Ensure all financial activity is performed in line with Family Carers Ireland policies and procedures.
Finance
Work with the Administration team to ensure that all office based requirements are fulfilled with regard to purchases, lodgements, payroll, invoicing, annual leave, travel and subsistence etc. in line with the Organisation’s Finance policies and procedures.
External Relationships
Manage relationships with HSE staff on the ground and HSE management at CHO and LHO level, clients, families of clients, and with external agencies to ensure strong business links are developed.
Health & Safety
Ensure the Organisation’s health and safety standards are adhered to and the safety of staff at all times.
Training
Monitor staff training and ensure that all staff training is up to date and that staff are trained in compliance with both the HSE and the Organisation’s requirements.
Policies & Procedures
Adhere to the Organisation’s policies and procedures.
Other Duties
Undertake other duties as may be required and assigned by the Organisation from time to time.
Participate effectively in the National Home Services team.
Role Criteria:
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes;
Minimum level 6 qualification in Healthcare or Community Development or other relevant discipline is required.
A Nursing qualification is desirable.
Relevant experience working in a Healthcare, Social Care or Community Development environment is an advantage.
Experience of managing a substantial Home Care service is desirable.
Experience in managing a diverse workload and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to prioritise tasks and work within a dynamic environment.
Excellent IT Skills- mainly MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Social Media.
Working knowledge of coordinating budgets.

Proven networking skills.
Full clean drivers licence and own transport.
Excellent communicator with fluency in the English language.
Flexibility in attitude and approach to the job.
Strong people management experience.
A willingness to learn and a desire to implement a culture of continuous improvement within their team.
A willingness to help out other colleagues.
A strong work ethic is essential.
Willingness to travel and do some evening work when required.
