The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is a national voluntary organisation devoted to representing the interests of, and providing services to, people with Dementia, their families and carers.  Marking its 30th Anniversary in 2012, The Society has grown to be a professional, nationwide charity which enjoys the support of members, volunteers and over 900 staff through a network of over 125 Dementia specific services such as day care centres, home care services, carer support groups, social clubs and two respite centres.  The Society also operates the Alzheimer National Helpline Service 1 800 341 341.

Deputy Manager/ CNM2

The Orchard Day & Respite Centre, Blackrock, Co. Dublin

The Deputy Manager will assist, support and deputise where required for the Director of Nursing.  He/she will assist in the leadership of the staff team to ensure provision of best practice, person centred dementia care to all service users in line with national standards and regulations.  There is also a hands-on, nursing side to this role where the post holder will carry out and assume clinical responsibilities.

The successful candidate will have:

A current registration with An Bord Altranais
A minimum of 4 years nursing experience in a managerial role.
Experience in elderly care.
An understanding of the legislation governing services for older people and people with dementia including HIQA standards and regulations, and their practical applications.
