To assist with the development and operational work of our voluntary organisation and registered charity.
CAD provides drug education and training programmes primarily for parents and community workers. (www.cadaboutdrugs.ie)
The Development Officer will strive to maintain the high standards associated with the organisation since its inception in 1983. They will:
Assist the Director of Services in leading, guiding, directing and evaluating the service provision related to the organisation
Seek out opportunities for expansion of the organisation
Assist CAD to comply with the Charities Act 2009
Have extensive broad based knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Have creative skills and experience in producing innovative written materials to stimulate interest in CAD and attract potential new contacts for our education and training programmes
Have experience of the development of Service Level Agreements (SLA)
Maintain appropriate documentation and records and prepare monthly or quarterly accounts and achievement reports
Have excellent IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office packages and social media and wordpress.
Familiarise themselves with the strategic plan to help direct future work plans.
Be familiar with the Governance Code, a Code of Practice for Good Governance of Community, Voluntary and Charitable organisations.
Further develop our communications strategy in line with relevant national strategies / policies
Be responsible for managing and co-ordinating fund raising for the organisation
Explore possibility of accessing philanthropic and other sources of funding
Be responsible for co-ordination and managing the relationships of the organisations with corporations, foundations and individuals from whom funds are sought for various CAD projects
Identify potential sponsors;
Maintain records related to the income and expenditure of the organisation
Carry out such duties as may be assigned from time to time
Work closely with CAD personnel for the good of the organisation and carry out all duties in accordance with agreed policies and procedures of Community Awareness of Drugs.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Relevant third level qualification or equivalent
Knowledge and skills appropriate to the Community and voluntary sector
Excellent report writing skills
Be capable of working on their own initiative
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Excellent IT skills to include Microsoft Office Packages and WordPress
Be a self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team
Knowledge of the Drugs Education Sector would be an advantage
The post & salary: Initially this is a part time position, fourteen hours per week i.e. three mornings or two full days per week. . The position is based on a fixed term contract of one year with a salary of euro € 21 per hour. (€15,288 per annum) Some evening and weekend work is anticipated, for which time off in lieu will be given. Following a probationary period, the Development Officer post is contingent upon the availability of funding for CAD for this position.
