Finance Administrator – Rethink Ireland

JOB PURPOSE
Rethink Ireland is looking for a Finance Administrator with strong analytical skills to join our fast-paced and growing team. We are looking for applicants with accounting skills and knowledge. This role is suitable for a qualified Accounting Technician or a person training to be an Accountant (part-qualified).

JOB DESCRIPTION
If you are successful, you will work within the Finance Team and report to the Financial Controller. You will perform a broad range of management accounting, accounting and book-keeping duties. You will collate, prepare and analyse financial information to support our financial governance

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
You will assist the AP and AR functions in accordance with departmental processes and procedures
You will assist in day to day finance operational tasks such as monthly bank reconciliations, administering payments for invoices, and accurately updating internal accounting databases and spreadsheets.
You will provide administrative support to other business units within the organisation by dealing with any finance queries they have, to strengthen internal communication in a timely manner.
You will do transaction entries for all receipts, payments, and other financial data in the accounting package on a monthly basis.
You will support managing obligations to donors, awardees and third-party vendors.
You will maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable listings on an ongoing basis
You will process and manage staff timesheets on a monthly basis.
Act as an ambassador for Rethink Ireland at all times.
Filing and payment of all Revenue related returns.
Banking requirements including online banking, transfer payments, lodgments and reconciliations; Monitoring cash flow and overall cash management.
Assisting with the preparation of the annual budget.
Assist the Financial Controller with Annual Audit work.
Assisting with general administration and compliance-related matters.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You have an Accounting qualification (or pursuit of this qualification) OR at least 1 – 2 years experience as an Accounts Assistant or Accounting Technician
You have a good knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and have solid data entry skills with strong numerical skills.
You have excellent written and verbal communications skills and are able to work to strict deadlines.
You have knowledge of Google Suite: Google docs, Google Sheets and Gmail
You have a commitment to excellence and diligence to detail and work well as part of a team.
You demonstrate the highest levels of integrity

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience in the use of accounting packages including Xero, Sage, Quickbooks.
Experience of preparing and reporting financial statements
Ability to read, interpret and apply established internal procedures and policies.
Understanding of charity governance
Experience / understanding of charity SORP
