The Person:
The person must be proactive in their approach to managing the Finance function and lead the organisation in best practice including developing and delivering training where necessary, updating financial procedures and ensuring the systems are streamlined to allow maximum effectiveness within the Finance function.
The person is required to hold a Finance qualification to degree level which may include BA in Finance, Finance Administration, Business Administration, Accountancy or equivalent
Excellent working knowledge of SAGE and Excel and an understanding of SORP accounting,
Demonstrated ability to work with multiple funding streams and agencies
Interest in the vision and mission of DoCCS
Experience of Change Management
Strong analytical and technical skills,
Excellent communicator,
Strong financial controls ethos,
Experience of working as part of a team,
Financial management experience, preferably in the not-for-profit sector, would be a distinct advantage.
Competencies:
Knowledge and Skills:
Accounting experience of 2 – 5 years’ experience including budgeting, management accounts, departmentalised management accounts, budget versus actual accounting information, payroll.
Preparation of annual accounts using SORP accounting for charities
Knowledge of accounting software Sage Line 50 or similar and payroll software
Plan and work efficiently to establish priorities and allocates time and effort accordingly, identifying possible obstacles to planned achievement
Breaks down complex activities into manageable tasks
Experience in managing staff and of organisational management.
Communications:
Ability to communicate at all levels of organisation – Board; Director; Middle Management; and Departments
High level of verbal/written skills

2. Beauty and/or Hairdressing Instructor
St. Vincent’s CTC – Full Time, 1 year specified purpose
St. Vincent’s Community Training Centre of the Daughters of Charity Community Services provides vocational and life skills training to early school leavers under the CDETB Community Training Programme. The courses are designed to enhance the learner’s potential to learn new skills and achieve relevant certification necessary for progression into employment, further training or continued education.
The organisation invites applications from enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals for the position of:
Beauty and/or Hairdressing instructor – Full Time, 1 year specified purpose
The post is an excellent opportunity for someone who wishes to work with us in the Hair, Beauty and Barbering area within our Training Centre. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience and experience of providing training for individuals in the area of Beauty and/or Hairdressing. The successful applicant will deliver the beauty or hairdressing element of the VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Hair and Beauty Services (which is the equivalent of QQI level 4). This role will be supported by a team within the Barbering, Hairdressing and Beauty training area within the CTC, as well as the Manager and further supports throughout the organisation. The learners will also receive supports in relation to literacy, numeracy, IT and other programmes developed by the CTC. The successful applicant will be employed for 5 days per week and within this timeframe must deliver the curriculum to learners.
The role:
Contract: Full Time – 35 hrs per week over five days. 1 Year Specified Purpose contract.
Reporting to: Manager of St. Vincent’s CTC or their nominee
Salary Scale: Point 1 on CTC instructor scale
Start date: The start date for this position is the end of June however this is subject to change if required by the organisation.

Desirable:
A train the trainer qualification and a VTCT assessor qualification are necessary for the role and would be an advantage to applicants, however the organisation will organise training for the successful candidate if required.
Excellent communication and listening skills.
A working knowledge of the key state agencies who work with early school leavers.
Essential:
Experience of providing training and support to trainee beauticians or hairdressers, specifically experience with the 16 to 21 year old age group will be a distinct advantage.
A recognised qualification relating to beauty or hairdressing
The ability to work collaboratively with a small team, and the wider CTC and organisation. This is essential as the role involves sharing a teaching and training space and also developing strong links with other internal and external parties, to include work experience placements, to ensure our learners are provided the best possible support.
An ability to inspire and motivate young people and a passion for the beauty or hairdressing profession and business
Experience in customer service and an ability to train learners to an excellent level in relation to same.
The ability to integrate I.T. based learning, literacy development and other pedagogical skills and approaches.
Excellent administration skills, as the role requires maintaining records and submission to VTCT and CDETB.
A trainee-centred approach to the work, with demonstrated experience of this approach.
The ability to provide guidance to new and emerging learners, including developing a unique learning plan to for each individual learner.
The ability to work effectively with CTC staff, learners, external partners, employers and others as appropriate to support the learner engagement on work experience, personal development and progression.
The ability to support the personal development of each learner to develop the skills required to engage and sustain in an employment position in the Beauty and/or Hairdressing industry.
3. Hospitality and Cleaning operative – Part time hours, 1 year fixed term position
We are currently looking for a cleaning and hospitality operative to help support the work of Daughters of Charity Community Services. This is a vital role within the organisation as it supports the work of all of our services.
The Hospitality and Cleaning Operative role:
Contract: Part-time, 1 year fixed term: working 20 hrs per week over 5 days (flexibility is offered regarding start and finish times)
Reporting to: HR Manager
Rate of pay: €11ph
The ideal candidate will have some experience in a cleaning or hospitality role and/or a willingness to learn and develop within the role. The role requires somebody who is proactive in solving any issues that arise, flexible in their approach to work, good initiative to adapt the role to ensure we are maintaining a high standard and a high level of confidentiality.
This role involves cleaning duties throughout the services, meeting room set up and diary management and cover on reception if required.
