General Manager – Relationships Ireland – Dublin

Reporting to: Chairperson, Board
Position: Permanent contract, 4-5 days per week

Organisation Overview:

Relationships Ireland is a not-for-profit organisation, offering counselling services to people experiencing problems within their relationships. Established over 50 years ago by Canon Handy, we have achieved a very strong reputation for relationship counselling and training.

Having worked through the challenging economic landscape of the past 5 years, we have gone through significant change, and we are now well-positioned to grow and develop Relationships Ireland into the pre-eminent relationship counselling organisation in Ireland. A key part of achieving this will be the energy and ability of the General Manager.

Position Description:

You will work with the Board of Directors to clearly articulate a Vision for Relationships Ireland and the role it will play in Irish society and develop a strategic plan to achieve that vision. In addition, you will influence key stakeholders and lead the organisation to deliver on that vision.

You will need to have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, passion and drive, resulting in a strong ability to engage people to follow you, while having a keen understanding of all the different elements needed to run an effective not-for-profit organisation and deliver outstanding service within budget while making a difference within society. You will have existing experience of or have the ability to assimilate a strong understanding of clinical operating models and typical clinical issues into your knowledge base.

We are looking to recruit a General Manager who is able to provide strong, effective and energetic leadership while managing the day-to-day running of the organisation and growing our client base and services. You will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior management position, at least 2 in a similar type of GM role, with a solid track record in relationship building, people management, business development and P&L delivery.

Build a collaborative and unified culture
Lead the development of strategic plan including the vision of the organisation in conjunction with the board
Lead the execution of the plan ensuring all areas are working effectively
Build relationships internally and externally to promote RI and its vision

Skills set required:

Ability to build relationships and lead others
Ability to devise and implement a Strategic plan and deliver results
Ability to communicate and engage stakeholders, including funding agencies
Ability to dealing with media and PR
Ability to deal with different points of view and manage these situations
Has strong financial acumen
