Applications sought for Healthy Food Made Easy Peer Leaders for the Food and Health programme in Dublin & Kildare areas.
The Food and Health Programme consists of a number of initiatives based on providing training courses around making healthy eating and lifestyle choices. One such initiative is the Healthy Food Made Easy course, where members of the community are trained to deliver the 6 week course to groups in the local area. Healthy Food Made Easy (HFME) is a practical course which helps participants to plan meals, shop, cook and eat in a healthy way. HFME Peer Leaders are paid for each course delivered. This project is a joint initiative between the HSE, the Ballyfermot/Chapelizod Partnership and the South Dublin County Partnership.
How do I become a Healthy Food Made EasyPeer Leader?
All HFME Peer Leaders receive training in the current HSE guidelines based on the food pyramid and fundamental group facilitation skills. This training will be run by experienced Food and Health Leaders and HSE Community Dietitians.
To become a HFME Peer Leader all training sessions must be attended.
Training Venue: Ballyfermot Partnership 201a Decies Road, Ballyfermot, Dublin 10
Duration: Training will be over 7 full days
Training Dates: June 19, 20, 21, 26, & 27 July 3 & 4
Time: 10am – 4pm each day
Who should apply?
Those with an interest in healthy eating who have access to their own transport , who are flexible and available to deliver courses during the day and possibly in the evening. An openness to work with a diverse range of individuals and groups is necessary.

We are looking for applicants from the following areas: Dublin 2, 6, 8, 10, 12, 20 and Kildare. 2 applicants from each area will be offered an opportunity to train as Healthy Food Made Easy Peer Leaders.
