Human Resources Officer – Cheeverstown House – Dublin

Cheeverstown House is a voluntary organisation, in a four-year accredited partnership with the Council on Quality and Leadership, based in South County Dublin. We provide a range of support services to people with an intellectual disability in various locations and our core values are person-centredness, community inclusion and active participation with a strong emphasis on quality.

We are now recruiting to fill the following post:

Human Resources Officer
Full-time, 37 hours per week
Specific Purpose Contract

Cheeverstown is recruiting a Human Resources Officer on a specific purpose contract to cover the leave of absence of the current post holder. This contract will initially be for one year and may be extended.

The scope of the role will be to work closely with the Human Resources Manager to deliver the HR function and primary responsibilities will include:

Implement recruitment campaigns and associated recruitment administration
Formulate, develop and update policies and procedures
Provide advice and assistance to management and employees on HR, employment law and employee relations issues
Monitor the ongoing effectiveness of HR policies and procedures and review how they work in practice e.g. attendance management and sick pay policy.
Interpret and advise on employment legislation and ensure compliance on statutory legislation and regulations
Coordinate, prepare and provide HR reports to relevant parties both within and outside the organisation
Deal with employee issues as required, promoting good communication and fostering goodwill
Administration including maintaining accurate and up to date employee records and the HR information system

The appointee will:

Hold a degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
A Masters qualification in HR is an advantage
Ideally will have professional membership of CIPD

Previous experience in a busy HR generalist role is essential – ideally minimum of 3 years’ experience.

The appointee will be an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills.  He/she will possess absolute discretion and confidentiality with the ability to build good working relationships and work as part of a team.

The appointee will possess a proven ability to use initiative, work under pressure and achieve deadlines.
