Invitation to Tender – Tallaght Drug & Alcohol Task Force

Background
Tallaght Drug & Alcohol Task Force (formerly Tallaght Local Drugs Task Force) was one of 14 Local Drugs Task Forces set up in 1997 to facilitate a more effective response to the issue of problematic drug use in communities. The role of Local Drugs Task Forces as set out in the Governments current National Drugs Strategy 2008 – 2016 is to implement the National Drugs Strategy in the context of the needs of the regional/local area and strengthen community based responses in partnership with the community, voluntary, statutory and political sectors. In 2014 TDATF agreed to include alcohol in its remit and title.

Context: The overall aim is to provide an understanding of alcohol misuse in the Tallaght Drug & Alcohol Taskforce Area, including a visual understanding of alcohol availability.

Primary objectives:
To define the current patterns of licit and illicit alcohol use in the Tallaght Drug & Alcohol Taskforce Area
To outline the patterns, behaviours and attitudes of the local community in relation to alcohol
To create a visual map which pinpoints outlets for sale and supply of alcohol in our area

Time Frame:
We wish to have this work completed within a two-month timeframe (approximately) and no later than end of October 2017
