Description
Leading the Operations in the Dairy & Food Chemistry lab your main responsibilities will include full responsibility for the operation of the lab; the quality of the testing provided, the safe maintenance of the equipment & the well-being of the staff. Manage & develop the Lab team, currently 10 qualified scientists. Proactively manage operations to meet customers requirements by effective planning & day to day management of workflow & testing. Acting as an Authorised Signatory for Test Certs, report all results in a format required by the customer, providing relevant technical support as appropriate. Ensure that quality systems are adhered to & INAB accreditation is maintained & expanded. Provide a high level of customer service & maintain working knowledge of relevant legislation & industry standards & trends. Maintain lab KPIs, especially on time delivery, at exceptional levels.
Skills Requirements
Have a degree level in Food/Dairy Science/Analytical Chemistry & significant relevant experience in either accredited contract testing labs/industry role. Significant supervisory/management experience in a technical environment. It is essential for you to possess an in depth knowledge of relevant testing techniques as applicable to dairy & nutritional chemistry testing as well as working knowledge of current food labelling legislation & a proven ability to apply these are also important.
