Main Duties/Responsibilities
Ensure the service users have access to a full range of accommodation treatment and support services via multi agency pathways
To take responsibility for the night cafe service including developing and managing the rota and being the senior point of contact for all issues internal and external.
Assist the Night Café Project Manager in the nightly operation of the service to ensure it runs smoothly and in accordance with organisational procedures
Deputise for the Night Café Project Manager when required.
To cope with incidents and emergencies as they occur and bring them to satisfactory conclusion within the framework of MQI policies and to record details of such incidents as appropriate.
To comply with the Night Café Project Manager’s requirements in relation to all appropriate paperwork including the rota, sick leave and payroll administration, and filing of data relevant to the service.
Monitor and support staff and clients ensuring that all relevant documentation is completed and that links are being made with the appropriate internal and external services.
To work on the floor supporting the team
To regularly engage with and build a professional relationship with service users treating them with dignity and respect and ensure the value of MQI are upheld.
Undertake harm reduction and interventions as required
Carry out administrative procedures in accordance with organisation policies and ensure data is recorded on the IT System. (PASS).
To assist in the recruitment, induction and retention of staff, volunteers and placements.
To assist in the preparation of reports, statistics and other information that may be required by the Night Café Project Manager and the Head of the Service.
To work effectively as a member of a team
While on duty ensure that the health and safety standards are adhered to in accordance with the organisation’s policies and raise any H&S issues with the Night Café Project Manager and/or the Head of the Service in the absence of the Night Café Coordinator
To share responsibility for supervising and supporting staff assigned to the service.
Attend internal/external meetings and training as required by the organisation
Have a flexible approach to the work in response to organisational change, development and review of best practice.
Engage with other team members, support colleagues, participate in meetings as required, and be open to reasonable requests from the Night Café Project Manager/Head of the Service in order to ensure effective working relationships.
Work within the policies of MQI, both organisation wide and project specific in order to ensure that a consistent delivery of service and quality standards is adhered to in the project.
Share responsibility to work cohesively where applicable with staff and volunteers for the delivery of this service and to act as a mentor to staff and volunteers who are working in the service
Reporting to the Night Café Project Manager for individual support, supervision and performance appraisal working within the parameters of MQI’s Quality in Alcohol and Drugs Services (Quads), HR and H&S policies and procedures.
To provide support to the Fundraising Team in relation to any events being held in Riverbank in connection with the service.
Ensure compliance with organisation policies to ensure consistent delivery of services and maintenance of quality standards including:

Needs assessment, key working, care planning
Boundaries
Quads
Undertake any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Person Specification
A Third Level Social Care qualification and a minimum of two – four years full time (or part time equivalent) experience working as a Project Worker in a low threshold environment with at least one of these years being at management/lead level
Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills within MQI and externally with the local community.
Required to demonstrate ability to work under pressure and in an environment where service users have multiple complex needs.
Ability to work on own initiative
An excellent understanding of issues relating to problem drug use/homelessness including mental health concerns
Capacity to develop constructive relationships with clients & team.
Capacity to develop positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Must be able to demonstrate proficient IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and a good knowledge CRM system for reporting purposes
Additional Details:
Basic salary of €28,500 pa
€1,000 Night Work Premium pa
€4,000 Lead Allowance pa
