Local Development Officer – Northside Partnership Ltd – Dublin 17

Northside Partnership Ltd is recruiting for the position of Local Development Officer. This position is funded by the 2015-2017 Social Inclusion and Community Development Programme (SICAP). The contract of employment is linked with the SICAP framework.

The main purpose of the position is to support Northside Partnership Ltd in implementing the company’s local development programme. This involves engaging with communities, a number of community-based organisations and agencies.  A specific role of the position is to co-ordinate the Young Community Leaders Programme and the Healthy Communities Initiative in close collaboration with the local development team. The Young Community Leaders Programme requires flexibility of working afternoons and evenings on 2-days per week. The position necessitates participation in structures related to the above initiative and programmes.

Salary Range: € 30,000-40,000 depending on experience.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following:

Qualifications

Third level education is essential
Background in working with community groups, organisations  and statutory agencies
Facilitation skills are essential

Essential Experience/Knowledge

Project support and administration
Event organisation skills
Work experience in the non-for-profit sector
Experience of working with young people
Experience in the delivery of STEPS Training is desirable

Personal Skills

Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent organisation skills
Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
Show capacity to work to tight deadlines
Candidate has to be pro-active, display a can-do attitude and be self-starter
Ability to build and maintain relationships

Other

Access to own transport is highly desirable as the post requires engaging with groups and stakeholders in different locations in the operational area of the company (Dublin North Central).
Garda Clearance will be required
