Manager for Membership and Volunteers – Irish Foster Care Association

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Membership
Develop a strategy for the recruitment and retention of IFCA members in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Develop and grow IFCA’s membership.
Manage IFCA’s membership database using IFCA’s CRM data base.
Comply with GDPR requirements
Oversee the administration of processes for IFCA membership
Review and make recommendations on improving IFCA’s member experience.
Working in collaboration with the National Services Manager, deliver a range of services to IFCA’s members through IFCA’s Hubs and Branches.

Volunteers
Develop a strategy for the recruitment, support and retention of volunteers
Manage, support and provide direction to IFCA volunteers to achieve IFCA’s strategic aims and objectives.
Provide training and support to IFCA volunteers in Branches and Hubs
Guide and support volunteers
Develop and deliver an annual operational plan for the recruitment and retention of volunteers with measurable outcomes
Implement IFCA’s GDPR policy and ensure volunteer compliance with current legislation and best practice
Ensure volunteers receive training in relevant policies as required
Review and update, as necessary, IFCA’s Volunteer Policy and Application process
Map IFCA’s volunteer requirements in consultation with the National Service Manager and relevant staff
Create role descriptions for each volunteer role in consultation with the National Service Manager and relevant staff.
Implement IFCA’s Volunteer policy and other relevant policies relevant to volunteers.
Establish a volunteer evaluation process to enable IFCA provide continued supports to volunteers.
Regularly review volunteer training and support needs and develop a plan to meet same
Anticipate and plan for future volunteer needs and programme development
Lead, support and manage volunteer days, volunteer recruitment drives, training and information sessions
Identify resources that foster volunteer development and recognition
Manage volunteer induction and exit processes.
Establish and implement fair and transparent processes for addressing volunteer performance or relationship issues.

IFCA Data Protection
Act as IFCA’s Data Protection Officer.
Provide training in data protection to IFCA staff and volunteers.
Management of Administration
Manage IFCA’s Administration staff
Manage all aspects of IFCA’s administration
Work collaboratively with IFCA’s finance officer in the management and oversight of the processing of membership and legal fees payments
Participate in IFCA’s internal committees.
Support the administrator for membership and events in the management of IFCA’s membership CRM and advise on improvements within the CRM system as identified.
Liaise with IFCA’s CRM provider

Competencies
Proven track record in the development and management of a membership base.
Excellent interpersonal, oral/written communication skills.
Ability to work within a team and enthuse colleagues.
An understanding of the process of membership and volunteer recruitment and retention and a passion for quality and innovation in the service.
Ability to work independently and take the initiative within the operational parameters set by the CEO.
Experience and knowledge of relevant legislation pertaining to GDPR.
Ability to build partnerships with statutory, voluntary, and private sector organisations.
Excellent knowledge of information technology.
Excellent time management skills and dependability

Experience & Qualifications
Essential
Relevant third level qualification
Experience of developing membership recruitment and retention strategies
Experience of recruiting training supporting and retaining volunteers.
Experience of working with multiple key stakeholders.
Proficiency in IT systems and experience of CRM database management
Knowledge of GDPR
Excellent report writing skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Experience of managing staff.
Working as part of a team
