The role of direct support worker is an exciting opportunity to be part of one person’s journey and growth. You will be part of a small and committed team that support a young man with an intellectual disability, who lives in his own home. An important part of your role is to provide the support he needs to have new opportunities and experiences, fulfil his potential and enjoy the good things in life.
Flexible hours over seven days, early mornings, sleepovers and weekend hours.
You are:

Dedicated, reliable, flexible
Good at making links within the local community
An excellent communicator and facilitator
Energetic with a calm disposition
Creative, curious, good at taking the initiative
Good with technology
Highly organized, professional with sound common sense
You will need to:
Be interested in and committed to working within a supported self-directed living approach
Help with personal care, light housework and supporting the person to develop their skills
Interested in supporting the person to reach their potential through community or employment roles
Have a full, clean driving licence
Have good spoken English
