EPIC is an independent, not-for-profit organisation whose purpose is to advocate for the rights of young people in care or with care experience.
EPIC currently provides a 1:1 advocacy and support service to young people in care and aftercare. EPIC has received funding from the Atlantic Philanthropies to develop a Children’s and Young People’s Participation project , in partnership with Tusla. This will be achieved through the development of a number of Fora for children and young people nationally.
EPIC wish to recruit a Participation Development Coordinator to support, develop and coordinate this project.
The Participation Development Coordinator will report to the Manager of the National Advocacy Service.
Job Purpose
To support and promote the development of local participative structures for young people in care in each region eg Fora for young people in care
To work in partnership with Tusla to build capacity within the organisation to develop and sustain participation structures for young people and ensure their views and concerns are heard and contribute to policy and practice development within Tusla
To develop work in the area of participation and consultation to advance concrete policy and practice change within the care system
Contract: 1 year fixed term contract with a 6 month probationary period. Based in 7, Red Cow Lane, Smithfield, Dublin 7
