CP work focuses on targeting and providing supports to young people identified to be most at risk of early
school leaving and includes:
Identifying and supporting children at risk of not reaching their potential in the educational system because of poor attendance, participation and retention via initiatives such as breakfast clubs; homework clubs; afterschool supports; mentoring programmes; and therapeutic interventions.
SCP is recruiting for the following roles:
1 x Project Specialist (Primary): The position is for a 10 hour flexible working week, with targeted students in primary schools.
1 x Project Specialist Secondary: The position is for a 10 hour flexible working week with targeted students in secondary schools.
Who we are looking for:
A recognised third level practice qualification (minimum Level 7 on the QQI) in one of the following:
Psychology
Social Care
Early Childhood Care and Education
Youth Work
Desirable Criteria include:
Speech and language training
Resilience and coping skills training
Mental health training
Person Specification
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with young people from 5yrs – 18yrs
Good interpersonal skills, including ability to liaise with a wide range of contacts and build and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to be proactive, use own initiative and work effectively
Positive and flexible approach to team working.
Good computer skills, including Word, Excel and Prezi/PowerPoint
Experience in designing and facilitating bespoke and evidence-based programmes and interventions.
