Qualifications, Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will have:
A recognised third level qualification and experience in relevant fields such as education, youth/community work, social care, early years or related discipline.
Practical experience of working with children and young people in a similar role
A knowledge and understanding of social inclusion, the Irish education system, educational disadvantage and the role of the School Completion Programme
Proficiency at planning, implementing and evaluating interventions
A knowledge of and possibly experience of working collaboratively with other support agencies
Have good ICT and report writing skills
Good communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills
A full driving licence and use of car for work purposes.
Duties
Working with referred children and young people (aged 4–18 years) on an individual and group basis
To identify the needs of students and develop a needs-based plan of intervention
Facilitating and implement evidence based programmes and supports in response to the identified needs
Plan, implement and evaluate all interventions
Work as part of a team by collaborating with SCP colleagues, school staff and other agencies to meet the needs of students
Collaborate with parents to advance the needs of the child or young person
Maintain good case notes and intervention records
Report to the Project Co-Ordinator.
Training
Training and supervision will be provided on an ongoing basis.
The contract is a part-time, fixed-term contract of 25 hours a week from 26th August 2019 to end June 2020. Renewal of contract is dependent upon completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months and Government funding to the Project.
SALARY €14.26 per hour inclusive of 8% holiday pay
