WALK are leaders in a movement for change, empowering people with disabilities to live self-determined lives in an equal and inclusive society.
We are looking for people who are available on an ‘if and when required’ basis to join our relief panel of residential support workers. Candidates must possess the following:
A degree in a health related field, preferably social care or psychology
Experience working with people whose behaviour can challenge
Experience working with adults with autism is desirable
Availability to work at short notice is desirable
A full clean drivers licence and a willingness to drive as part of the role is essential
WALK will provide training in the following areas:
Safe Guarding Vulnerable Adults,
Safe Administration of Medications,
Occupational First Aid,
Supporting People whose behaviour may challenge using a low arousal approach,
Fire Safety Training,
Manual Handling/ Patient Handling,
Induction to WALK & local induction to individual services,
Report Writing
and if required Epilepsy Training and also Autistic Practice Training
Hourly rate varies depending on qualifications and experience
