Senior Human Resources Manager – Depaul – Dublin

Depaul is a cross border charity working to support people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Depaul is a values led organisation deriving our values from a Vincentian ethos. Depaul’s offers services in services 4 main areas homelessness and addiction, homelessness and vulnerable families, homelessness and prevention and homelessness and criminal justice. Depaul is not a faith based organisation so our staff and volunteers can be of any faith or none at all. The Fundraising department and the HR department operate as two distinct cross border departments. Senior HR Manager

This role will involve cross border working with operational responsibility for the HR Department. The organisation employs 400 employees in diverse roles across Northern Ireland and Dublin with the HR department covering both jurisdictions and offices in Belfast and Dublin city centre and reporting to the Director of Corporate Services.

Salary: circa €55,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior HR Manager with responsibility for both ROI and NI. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the senior management team with full responsibility of the HR function and the delivery of an excellent and good quality HR service within Depaul.
Key areas of responsibility are:

To provide leadership in all aspects of human resources issues and advise management as required minimising risks whilst managing the team to deliver a consistent service
Delivery of company policies, procedures and initiatives with constant review to ensure these are up to date with legislative and sectoral developments.
Management of work force planning to ensure that recruitment is delivered correctly and in a timely manner
Ownership of development to enable employees to have the opportunity for career advancement and to have clear succession planning in place
Working with the Unions to develop a good working relationship
Welfare of employees to ensure that they are happy in their work and feel valued and appreciated
Management of employee relations matters to successful and fair conclusion
To review and update the board on the delivery of a professional and valued HR service to the business
To manage change and the impact of change in a pro-active and positive manner taking care of the people impacted.

Candidates will need to have:

Minimum five years’ experience working in HR with two years line management responsibility
Be pro-active and used to working on their own initiative
Have a drive and desire to seek continuous improvement
Have a genuine interest in the motivation and development of employees
Be able to communicate well at all levels and to influence upwards
To be organised and structured in their approach to work and to identifying areas of improvement
To be creative around recruitment and have strong recruitment experience.
To have experience in employee relations matters and be able to offer sound advice whilst minimising risk
To have the ability to work under pressure and utilise the team provided to deliver the requirements of the role.
CIPD HR qualification.
