Service Manager – Irish Wheelchair Association – Co Kerry

Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA Ltd) is a progressive independent person centred organisation providing services for people with limited mobility nationally. Our mission is to provide exceptional services and other supports that change lives and ensure that people with disabilities are in a position to participate fully and equally in their communities.

We now seek applications for the following positions in Co. Kerry:

Service Manager – 25 hours per week – Fixed term contract – 6 months

Overall purpose of the role: This position will involve the planning, implementation and management of an individualised care plan for two children with significant disabilities in two separate services. The person will be responsible to ensure that all aspects of the children’s care are in place and are met in a planned holistic manner. This will involve integration of family, nursing, therapeutic and personal assistant services. The Service manager will also provide line management support for the Personal Assistants and Nurses in both services ensuring the highest quality of service provision. The Services manager may be required to provide a number of nursing hours per week to meet roster requirements.

Qualifications and experience:

A Nursing qualification and registered with a division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland are essential.
A minimum of 5 years nursing, management experience and knowledge of the requirements of high dependency care are all essential.
The successful candidate must be able to work on their own initiative and have problem solving skills.
A full driving license is essential as travel is required.
