Role Overview
You will provide leadership and manage a team of Support Co-ordinators, Volunteer Support Officers, Technology Engagement Officers, and Volunteers who provide the full range of ALONE’s services in the following counties; Louth, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan. This region of responsibility may be subject to change, as per the planned reconfiguration of HSE areas. The goal is to continuously enhance and expand our support services for older people.

Reporting Relationship
You will report directly to the ALONE Head of Services.
Responsibilities
Manage the provision of ALONE’s Support Coordination, Befriending Services (Visitation and Telephone, with support), and all of ALONE’s support services in the designated area, in line with ALONE’s ethos and values.
To provide leadership and manage a team of Service Support Co-ordinators, Volunteer Support Officers, Technology Engagement Officers and Volunteers in your area of responsibility.
Monitor team members’ cases, review outcomes and provide support when required.
To oversee the development/merger of a Telephone Befriending Service in the area.
To dedicate time to the implementation and success of ALONE’s Slaintecare Project, and to be part of the Oversight Group and Project Working Groups.
Develop and manage relationships with all local Statutory, Community and Voluntary organisations and stakeholders.
Promote ALONE’s services, build referral pathways and develop the capacity within the area to meet the needs of older people.
To ensure that the all of the objectives of the service level agreement with the HSE are met and the appropriate reports and documentation are forwarded in a timely and effective manner.
Identify gaps and blocks in service provision and work with other organisations to find solutions.
Generate reports for the management team, for funders and others, on a regular and ad hoc basis.
To ensure that there is a culture of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) within your team and to ensure that team members enhance their skillset and ensure they continue to remain effective, capable and knowledgeable in their field.
Manage your team to deliver the team’s objectives and targets.
Support ALONE to deliver the five goals in the Strategic Plan 2019-2023.
Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as requested.
Skills and Background
Essential:
Educated to Degree Level or significant relevant experience.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar sector.
Able to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, discretion and respect.
High level communication skills both written and verbal.
The ability to network and negotiate effectively with individuals and groups, within ALONE and outside
Desirable:
Experience of working in a Case Management environment.
Self-motivated person who is committed to ALONE’s mission.
Previous experience in managing teams and projects is highly desirable.
Understanding of the not for profit sector would be beneficial.
Good computer literacy, excellent organisational skills, budgeting, report writing, managing meetings and multi-tasking is desirable.
Some experience or understanding of Quality Management Systems would be an advantage.

The position is a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract. We work a 35-hour work-week in a good environment. The position will require a certain amount of travel. The salary will be dependent on skills and experience. We require flexibility around the role and staff may be asked to move between departments and locations. All staff support fundraising communications and campaigns.
