As we embark upon our next phase, the role of Services Manager will be key in managing and developing psychosocial services while retaining the culture, ethos and caring environment that has been the hallmark of ARC’s success to date.

The role is key to ARC’s strategic growth, and the candidate will work closely with the CEO and the services team to deliver on ARC’s objectives.

Job Description

Job Title: Services Manager

Reporting to: CEO

Main Purpose: To manage, co-ordinate, promote and develop psychosocial support services in ARC’s Centres in line with ARC’s vision and ethos.

Duties and Responsibilities

To plan, manage and co-ordinate the provision of services within ARC
To manage the HR functionalities of the services team
To support staff, therapists and volunteers working in services (including recruitment, training, support, and on-going development)
To ensure the quality of the ARC experience for the individual through effective evaluation, analysis and improvement measures.
To develop and update policies, standards and procedures for all services.
To oversee health & safety at both locations.
To proactively promote the services of ARC .by updating our online and printed materials and through effective networking in the local hospital settings and other relevant settings
To keep abreast of developments in psychosocial and care and, in liaison with the CEO, respond in an appropriate and proactive manner.
To manage internal communications and day to day operations of services
This person will manage the services in each ARC Centre, so will divide their time accordingly between 65 Eccles Street and 559 South Circular Road. Due to the nature of this role, candidates can expect occasional evening or weekend work.

Please note, this position, as with all other staff positions, will be garda vetted.

Person Specification

Essential criteria

At least three years’ supervisory management experience
Experience in leading a team and optimising the skills of individuals within the team
A sensitivity to the experiences of cancer for patients and their families and an appreciation of the role of complementary therapies in the treatment of cancer.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including a high level of listening and empathetic skills.
Fluency in the English language, both written and verbal
Strong proficiency in IT, particularly MS Office, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise a diverse workload

Desirable experience

A graduate qualification, in any one of the following: Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Psychotherapy or the Applied Healthcare Disciplines
While a background in oncology nursing is not essential, the ability to network effectively with oncology personnel in hospitals will be crucial for effectiveness in the role
Proficiency in MS Access
