Scope of the position
The Team Leader will be responsible for providing a safe, secure, homely environment where service users will participate in community, educational and leisure activities, make choices and enjoy a lifestyle that fulfils their potential and expectations, with opportunity for new experiences.
Accountabilities
Strong relationship building and accountability for all staff in the houses ie Key Workers and Residential Support Workers
Implementation of Personal Care Plans as per Anne Sullivan Centre Policies and Procedures
Support the organisation goals in line with the Anne Sullivan Centre Statement of Purpose and all policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Service Users
Day to day running and maintenance of the community houses
Create a homelike environment; facilitate the development of the service user’s independence while placing emphasis on their social, educational and occupational needs
Medication management responsible for organising prescriptions and recording of medication
Ensure that health appointments are made and scheduling of which staff member will accompany them
Accompany service users on holidays and other trips
Oversee the management of service users money received and spent and reconciliation on a weekly basis
Organising transportation for all outings as necessary
Be familiar with Health & Safety policies and procedures of ASC and to ensure that regular fire drills are carried out and recorded in their house.
Staff
Leading a team of Residential Support Workers (RSWs) and Key Workers
Provide the induction, training and support to new staff/student placements in all aspects of their job
Be involved in staff training and attend course where appropriate
Appraisal and ongoing performance reviews with RSWs and Key Workers
Schedule and attend meetings & participate on committees as requested
Management of time-keeping and attendance of staff and back to work meetings as appropriate
IT Systems
Ensure that all staff are trained on EPIC and that EPIC is updated by the RSWs and Key Workers daily
Regular review of all data in EPIC and ensure that incidents are reported and flagged to the Residential Services Manager where relevant
Management of the roster system Find my Shift to ensure all shifts are covered and to ensure that all staff are trained on using the system
Ensure that goals are set for all staff in Work Compass and that appraisals occur regularly.
Other
Responsible for all safety and hygiene standards in the community houses
Maintain appropriate standards in compliance with HIQA standards
Maintain high professional standards and confidentiality at all times
Keep up to date with implementing good modern concepts of care
Keep up to date with policies and procedures of the ASC and adhere to them
Be required to carry out such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Residential Services Manager, Administrator or CEO.

Hours of work
The position is based in the Anne Sullivan Centre community houses and works 39 hours per week.
Education and Experience
Ideally a Degree in Social Care or equivalent degree or experience in advocating for Deafblind people. Experience of leading a team in a residential setting.
