Aware Background
Aware was established in 1985 to support and educate people about depression and bipolar disorder. In recent years there have been a number of key developments within Aware in order to provide clinically proven and independently evaluated support options, aimed at helping people deal with these very common mental health issues. In response to the continued growth of the charity, the organisation now wishes to recruit trainers to deliver Life Skills Programme for adults
Aware has a national panel of Contract Trainers and is currently looking to add to their panel of Trainers by inviting applications from experienced Trainers/ Workshop Facilitators for the delivery of Life Skills Programme in the Midlands, Mid-West and South East regions of the country.
(please note, the number of programmes required to be delivered throughout the year vary and could be limited).
Life Skills Programme
Life skills is based on the principles of cognitive therapy (CBT) and is delivered during the evening over a six week period in a group setting. It is designed for people experiencing mild to moderate depression and participants can learn how to manage their feelings when they feel stressed, worried or depressed, and learn simple and practical skills to help them cope with life’s challenges. The number of programmes delivered throughout the year vary and could be limited.
Applicant’s Personal Qualities & Skills:
Have an appreciation of the impact of depression.
Very Strong communication and presentation skills.
Some knowledge of CBT.
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
Essential Criteria for the role:
Must be based in the Midlands, Mid-West or South East areas of the country and also be willing to engage in extensive travel, when necessary.
A clean full driving license and own transport.
Three years relevant experience required.
Must have experience and demonstrable a track record of delivering training programmes/workshops to groups.
Professional qualification in either Educational training, Teaching, Psychology.
Must own the necessary equipment conducive to training/presenting i.e. laptop, projector and speakers
Experience in delivering presentations to large groups.
Trainers are required to be self-employed and will be hired on a sessional basis only.
Professional indemnity insurance & Public liability insurance will be required if appointed.
Good IT skills.
Garda clearance will be required and two references.
Full and comprehensive training will be provided by Aware to those candidates selected by Aware.

Training Date
Successful applicants will receive training over two days held on 21st & 22nd March 2017 in Dublin and must be available to start delivery of the Life Skills Programme from completion of training
