Tús Coordinator – Northside Partnership

The Tús Community Workplace Initiative of the Department of Social Protection aims to provide short-term quality and suitable working opportunities for people who are long-term unemployed while at the same time carrying out beneficial work within the community.

Northside Partnership works to improve the opportunities for people and communities in North East Dublin to bring about positive changes in their own lives and in the life of their community. We offer a range of programmes and services to support individuals, local organisations, groups and communities.

Northside Partnership is now recruiting for the position of Tús Coordinator which offers a fantastic career progression opportunity for Tús Team Leaders. The main purpose of the position is to support Northside Partnership in delivering the Tús Programme in the Dublin North Central and North East Inner City areas. This involves working with clients, community based organisations and agencies to provide quality work placements for 260 people with the aim of progressing previously long/term unemployed people to work or further training.

Applicants must currently be employed as a Tus Team Leader under the Tus Programme. This is a co-ordination role which entails the support and supervision of a team of 12 Tus Team Leaders, each of whom supports 20 Tus Participants. The Tus Team Co-ordinator is also required to support a team of 20 Tus Participants. It is anticipated that additional duties will concentrate on co-ordination of activities in respect of:

Working with the Tús Team ensure the ongoing delivery of a professional ‘person-centred’ programme for participants
Support and supervise the Team Leaders in their work
Ensure there is good communication within the Tús team
Establish and support the development of good practice standards
Liaise with other sections of Northside Partnership to ensure successful delivery of the programme and promote cross partnership working.
Working with Team Leaders put in place actions which will support Tús participants in their career progression
Ensure there are appropriate record keeping systems in place so that the programme can be properly monitored
Along with the SICAP Manager and administration staff, ensure there is proper and effective management of the finances for the programme
Liaise as required with the DSP in the delivery of the programme
Ensure systems are in place to facilitate the ongoing provision of quality work placements in the community
Working with the Tús Team ensure mechanisms are in place to assess and evaluate organisations and their suitability for the programme
Ensure we meet the needs of community organisations and provide the most suitable participants for their chosen work placement
Prepare, as requested by Northside Partnership, reports on the progress of the programme
Undertake other relevant duties as requested by the Partnership from time to time that relate and/or complement to the delivery of the Tús Programme

Qualifications
Good standard of education
Experience/Knowledge

Previous supervisory experience
Analytical/Problem solving skills
Experience in Project Management
Sufficient work experience as Tús team leader (or in an equivalent team leader role) to co-ordinate a sizeable team of Tús Team Leaders
A strong working knowledge of the Tús Community Work Placement Initiative
Knowledge of community activities and work
Experience in working with statutory bodies
Experience in the delivery of training is an advantage
Technical Skills

Excellent computer skills
Full Driver’s Licence

Excellent organisation skills
Excellent writing skills
Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
Capacity to work to tight deadlines

Other

access to own transport is required with the relevant business insurance.
